The Poultry Science Association (PSA) recently moved their journals (Poultry Science and The Journal of Applied Poultry Research) to an open access model.
This means that the research is easier for everyone, including producers, consumers and other researchers, to get to. They won’t need to pay for articles and they won’t have to rely on a library that pays for them.
It’s not just the current articles that are now free to read online. You can also access older issues and articles.
At the same time that PSA moved to the open access model, they switched to publishing with Elsevier, a major academic publisher. Elsevier talked with Jacelyn Hemmelgarn, Executive Director of PSA, about the change.
